Have some meta for my fic. Here's Gozba, and what it means to the Zorić family and Clan Athim, their allied clan. Gozba is celebrated at the turn of the new year. The entire Clan gathers at the Zorić house to honor the Creators. This holiday is specific to Clan Athim and the Zorić family, though several other clans in Thedas celebrate a similar holiday. The whole house is decorated in bundles of winter roses, and wheat, tied in bundles of eight stalks each. They're tied with green thread, to represent the sprouting of life in the New Year. Wheat represents bounty, and the Roses represent the flourishing of blossoms in the coldest part of the year. While rosemary is an important herb to the Clan, it's inclusion in Gozba is decorative. Eight candles are poured and carved with the symbols of the creators. They are blessed by The Keeper before being lit, at the beginning of the feast. The feast included a large round bread, with eight walnuts baked into the top. It is glazed with honey when it comes out of the oven. Kolivjo, a grain based spread is poured into cups and also blessed before serving. It is decorated with a single sprig of rosemary. Before the feast begins, there is a bonfire outside. The Clan's singers gather and sing of old tales while the fire burns. The youngest members of the family hand out tapers to each person gathered around. The taper is held in the left hand. The Keeper and his two apprentices will then approach each member with Vallaslin to ask if they have honored their Creator over the year. They are then given a blessing and the candle is lit. After all candles are burning, eight carved effigies are placed in the fire by the youngest children. The ritual is complete and the feast begins. The feast is entirely vegetarian. Cabbage rolls stuffed with rice are usually the main course. There are a number of desserts, mostly cookies. Sour cherry wine is served alongside.
