Congratulations on a clean skate and good luck for free skating!
Japanese figure skater Wakaba Higuchi says she is relishing the prospect of making her first appearance at the ISU Grand Prix Final.
The 16-year-old secured the final spot among the six qualifiers and is Japan's only representative in the women's singles event at the Final starting in Nagoya on Dec. 7.
"I still can't believe it," said Higuchi who secured her spot in the Final after placing third in the GP season-opening Rostelecom Cup in Russia and second in the Cup of China, the third leg of the GP series.
"I'm anxious, but I hope I can have fun," Higuchi told reporters at Meiji Jingu Gaien Ice Skating Rink.
Hoping to stake a claim for a spot at the Pyeongchang Olympics, she added, "I want to get over 215 points. I think that would get me on the podium."
Wakaba got 128.85 points for her free skating (62.67 TES and 66.18 PCS), and she is in the 6th place. (results)
It was definitely not her best skate, but we all know she can learn from mistakes and do much better next time!:)
