Ok I did it !! My favorite shots from over the year, a couple from the same month and a baker's dozen because I just liked a lot of things. This was fun to do, I was worried I wouldn't have enough shots that I liked but! Going back through the year I actually took a lot of things I love. Always happy to see Odette and her skeletons and her karakul. And always, always delighted to play mermaids! The first one feels so out of place but it is genuinely one of my favorites. Yeehaw Odette... wow... Thanks for another year of hanging out and showing each other our ocs! I have fun here. 💜

I wish I had cool stats on the number of gposes, but I honestly have no idea. Rough estimate is something like 200 images? (with 90 from Roevember alone)

January-April

At the start of this year I moved to a new city and started a new job, so it was pretty slim pickings for the first few months. I didn't actually post any gposes in March at all... But I did make some subtle adjustments to Wil in c+ to make her look slightly older, which is where the picture comes from! (At the same time I also made some less subtle adjustments to Merl, for that matter: "Wil's" Merl is more gaunt (and saggier). Now every time I see vanilla Merl she looks like an infant baby to me, lol.) They're probably both due for a rework, actually, now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing... but I digress.

May

In May, we started to cook. I began to get braver with lighting and editing, and I finally settled on a gpose workflow which made more complicated scenes easier. I also got (slightly) braver with what I was willing to post 👀 I should remake this one... Also, honorable mention to the Tiny Fantasy series in May! I was having fun with it, but then I got it in my head that I wanted to follow the MSQ for the locations, when I should've just followed my heart and picked the locations/bosses I thought were the coolest. I'll get back to that series eventually; I've got some that I really liked but never posted!

June

I'm gonna be honest, I don't know if there was something in the water or what, but June was kind of insane for the quality of my gposing, and it was so hard to choose. Other than this one, we've got Spacesuit Wil, Gulool Ja on his bike (how did I do that???), and Antimony (who's still kicking around in the back of my head).

July

SOMEHOW I almost forgot about Essential Liberty despite it requiring 30 images and an absurd amount of work?? (seriously. I went and replaced the image for July in the process of writing this.) Don't ask me where it fits in their timeline; I don't know. I'm making everything up as I go.

August

August was fun. The Moonfire Faire was just so delightfully silly. I fully leaned into letting Wil be the cartoon character she wants to be, and I think that energy carried through the rest of the year. A very honorable mention to kid!Wil, who first appeared in August. I love her so much!

September

Weirdly didn't post all that much in September SHIT. WAIT. (It happened again - that's image rework #2.) September was when I finally ironed out the MerlWil timeline! Honorable mention to this expression practice meme which was so fun and created a nice little expression library for me to use! But also absolutely kicking myself... because the one pose I forgot to freaking save was the bashful one, which was my favorite 😭

October

Another month where it was hard to pick a favorite! All The Seafloor Saints Wake prompts were excellent and really forced me to push the boundaries of what I could do with gpose to make my ideas work. Definitely some much needed practice for what was to come in Roevember. Peculiar Portrait was probably my actual favorite as far as execution, but I have an incredible fondness for this picture of Wil. 🧡

Best month, obviously. I won't rehash what I already said on the last day of Roevember, but it was impossibly hard to pick one for this. So whatever: hot Wilfreda be upon ye. Masterpost is here.

December

Apparently I'm entering my silly collab era, which is exactly the kind of energy I want to bring into the new year. Because the only thing more fun than gposing is gposing with friends :)

Thank you all for being such an awesome community! Our little corner of Tumblr has genuinely brought me some of my favorite highlights of the year, and it's such a joy to be here. Let's continue to spit in the face of that suffocating oblivion, together. 💖

I am so happy that I can finally do a complete "GPOSE Wrapped" this year! Every year my gpose resolution is to take more solo pics of Renoux... and I have miraculously failed again lmao. I actually have solo pics of her but they're just not as fun.

Valkariel - Year in Review 2025

Hail friends and well met. The seasons change faster than I remember, but I suppose that's what life is like when you simply have more things to do. It is once again, time for year in review. As always, thank you all for your kind words and warm support you've shared with me! I hope my silly glamours make your day a little brighter and your WoLs feeling a little extra glamourous!

At the time of writing this, I have (screen)shot 240 glamours for the year. Many of you have noticed that I have not been as active this year. A significant portion of my queue is populated by reblogs of my older glams, and I look at them fondly even now. This year has had many things going on, beyond the scope of this game, some of which I found to be rather unsavory, so I took a step back and explored other hobbies instead. Moreover, compared to previous expansions, the gear doesn't suit my preferred style as much.

I cleared the Chaotic alliance raid a few days into the 2025 new year and the Clouddark pieces have become some of my favorite staple pieces for this expansion. The second savage tier release aligned poorly with my outside schedule and I ended up skipping the entire tier. Occult Crescent and Pilgrim's Traverse had more flexible time constraints, but both are endurance-testing content and didn't suit my preferred combat style of fast-paced mechanical execution.

However, I have been delighted by the crossover of FFXIV players and my other games that have been inspiring many cosplay glamours. I ended up playing a lot more on an alt than main for that reason too. This year brought new metallic dyes, more "classic fantasy" styled gear, and lifted job/class restrictions. It opens up many possibilities, although I am rather overwhelmed by the potential. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to mixing gear pieces with the latest patch.
