After founding a startup of his own, and then departing to Columbia University, Zach worked his way in to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to intern at the notorious company, Genius (formerly Rap Genius). Since then he has begun writing for Vice Magazine, as well as co-owning the burgeoning viral music app, RapChat.

Ep. 1: Tunji Balogun - A&R at Interscope Records

This week I had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Tunji for my first cup of "virtual coffee." He let me know some of the ins-and-outs of what it means to be an A&R, how he got to where he is, as well as his relationships with Kendrick Lamar, Isaiah Rashad, and more.

Despite his humble demeanor, Tunji has accomplished an incredible amount both in the Interscope building and out. His incredible ear for hip-hop can perhaps be attributed to his career as a rapper, but nonetheless being able to pick out "the next big thing" is a preset for Balogun.
