Grace couldn't help but smile at the sound of the others voice as she looked up at him. "I wondered how long it was going to take for you to find me." Grace laughed. Despite her first impulse, she hadn't gone home with Freddie after the wedding. She had wanted too. She had really, really wanted too. But she had thought that if she had gone home with him, then that would be it. Whatever it was between them would be gone and she hadn't felt this alive, this excited about someone in a long time. She wanted to stretch out that feeling a little while longer. Of course she knew that he might not bother. He had a name and that was it. There wasn't much to go on, after all. But this was a small town. It wasn't like he had to try too hard to figure out where she would be. She had been starting to wonder if she had made up the feeling. She was glad that, that didn't seem to be the case. "I'm surprised that it took you as long as it did, though."

Grace could understand that many people who came here did so with trouble and a trying past, she’d been forced to suffer through something horrible at the hands of someone she thought loved her. “I’m not here to tell you how to live your life, or that you shouldn’t do something. Sometimes it’s hard to stop a habit that was formed in terms of coping, heaven knows I have my demons that like to plague me daily at the most inconvenient times.”

Grace was wary about going on Blind Dates, after all, she hadn’t felt a need to date anyone since the whole marriage debacle but something about being in this city alone seemed to wear on her a bit. So she’d sign up for some random blind date app then tended to pair people based on similar interests. If anything else she could end up with a friend to enjoy certain types of films with if dating didn’t work out. She was sitting in the restaurant checking her phone to see if Stuart was running late when she heard her name. “Oh hey..I take it you must be Stuart or Stu i wasn’t quite sure what version you’d preferred, but yeah I’m Grace.”

Grace had been so nervous about becoming a mum. She was a selfish person, she knew that. She didn’t know if she would be any good at this. But when she met him, like most people said, she had so much love for her baby. And she couldn’t believe, a few short days later, they got to take him home. She smiled up at Freddie, Elias in her arms, “I have no idea what we’re even supposed to do with him.” Grace laughed. They had all of this stuff and Grace didn’t even know what to do with it. She looked back down at their son. “Christ, Freddie, he looks like you already.”
