Jaune hated events like these. Granted he would hate any place filled to the brim with vamps, but tonight he needed to play nice. He could do that for a few hours and if any of them got a little thirsty he had methods to defend himself. He figured the best way to ward off any bold bloodsuckers was to enter with a vampire who had a descent reputation among their ranks and who had a better one than Grave and Eva?
The blonde hunter adjusted his tie as he noticed one of the self proclaim vampire queens. “You have the best reputation and I like to think you have enough self control that you won’t drink me dry. I’m here to represent the human factions in this little ‘arrangement’ between our kinds. If I ended up dead before the night was over then there might be some unfortunate consequences either of us want to deal with.”
“Fair answer,” she concluded. Eva had a level head at times, but without her beloved music to keep her calm, she could be a ticking time bomb. Such was the nature of her progeny’s people, who once spread across Old Anglia in an attempt to conquer a large and powerful territory. “But be warned that Victor may not be very cooperative when it comes to the humans. He sees them as nothing more than sources of food.” Grace did, too, but she wasn’t stupid enough to hate them enough to try and exterminate the entire species.
After a final once-over, she turned away from the mirror and crooked a finger at Jaune to indicate that he follow her. The party was to be held in Rocko’s place, so it was more like an LA luau than a luxurious affair. But after enduring five parties hosted at Gio’s place, she was glad for the variety. Grace stepped out of the car and headed inside, confident that the vampires posted at the entrance knew who Jaune was and would let him in without question.
