This set of three carpenters pencils are a limited edition of 30, numbered by the artists: George Gibson and Grace Collins.

The laser engraved phrase on the side is the title of their series in Archives at Play 2, interrogating how we store and use archive material.

The words come from a letter found in the gallery archive, a greeting reflecting on a busy time, but wishing the best for the recipient. Still a familiar sentiment in the art world, buy these pencils to remind the artist, gallerist or carpenter you know that hopefully, life will seem calmer soon.

About the Author

Grace Collins first discovered her love for writing when she posted her ideas online at the age of thirteen. She has a BA in psychology and French, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education. Her debut novel, Creatures of the Night, has amassed over one million reads online and received a Watty Award for Horror and Paranormal. Grace lives in Aotearoa New Zealand and enjoys spending time in nature, traveling, and learning new languages.

Grace Collins, a Dallas native, was your typical Texan girl, a true southern belle, who had larger than life dreams. Her parents were average, her father raised chickens and other small livestock on their 2 acre property and her mother was in real estate. Most of her childhood, she was out in the yard with her daddy getting her hands dirty and loving every second of it. Still she held onto the image of the perfect Southern Belle, having watched Gone With The Wind more times than she was willing to admit. She could be a bit shy at times, but came to life any time she threw a party - parties that were the talk of her school.

Her life was perfect, until the real estate market crashed, resulting in her mother eventually losing her job and struggling to find another one just to make ends meet. She wasn’t the best in school, making barely average grades, so there went her chances of any way to pay for college.

Desperation set in and she started looking for jobs as soon as she graduated high school, finally going to areas that she would for sure never tell her daddy she’d been. The first interview at the Lodge went smooth, and much to her surprise within a week she was offered a rather high paying (in her opinion) job as a dancer with the possibility of tips. Her natural grace and poise made her a perfect dancer and soon she was bringing in more money a night than she ever dreamed possible.

Barely two months into her job, she was requested for her first private party. That night, she went home with not just her usual tips but knowing she’d caught the eye of the club’s wealthiest donor. Almost every week she would dance for him until one night, she arrived slightly early for the usual party only to discover that it wasn’t the usual party and it was something much much more terrifying.
