Name Grace Shen Location Los Angeles, CA, USA What do you do? I am a Los Angeles-based actor, born in Hong Kong and raised in Vancouver, BC. I've always wanted to be an actor but did not pursue it until I was almost 30 yrs old. It was not something my Chinese immigrant parents approved of and I did not have the courage to do it. I remember in high school, they were auditioning students for the musical Oliver. I went to the audition, sat in the back of the auditorium and watched everyone go up to do their song. I never did. I went to university, got my degree in teaching and then went to work in the real world. It then came a point in my life where I thought if I didn't give acting a try, I will regret it later on in life. Now after twenty years of pursuing acting, I have finally come to a place where I truly believe and trust myself, and have confidence in what I am doing. I feel like I am just beginning. It is a process of constantly striving to grow and better myself in every way.
