Hi, basically about a week ago I dyed my hair a bright purple, I did not like the colour so put a dark brown/black on it. I ended up with specs of green and blue and purple along with the brown in my hair when I am stood In the light, I am really worried as to how it looks and wondering what your advice is?

Shame that you panicked and covered it up straight away. Best thing to do now is to use a strong clarifying shampoo, mix it with vitamin c powder or crushed tablets, and scrub scrub scrub around the hair line, this may strip a little of your black dye also, but will hopefully get rid of some of your staining. If the problem is all over, then its going to be rather difficult to correct. The black dye has obviously reacted with the purple. Don’t whack another dye over the top in the hope to sort it out, as it’ll likely not make any difference. You can try and use a colour stripper, but this will strip your black and not much of the purple. If you can afford it, pop along to a salon for advice if not a treatment.
