Harking back to last Friday night over at the Evening Muse, we had a blast seeing our amazing local friends Modern Moxie rock out melodies from their new record "Claw Your Way Out", as well as made new friends with our sister scene's Grace Joyner (Charleston, SC) and touring out from Louisville, KY's Frederick The Younger! Of our two guests to the Charlotte Scene, Grace Joyner brings in a very relaxed atmosphere with a bit of synth mixed in with light instrumentals, layered with somber yet powerful lyrics. ~~~ Frederick the Younger, headlining the night, turns up the tempo & mixes up their approach from song to song, all the while passing along the mic between Jenni Cochran & Aaron Craker, changing styles up almost completely. In their pop & soul, audiences can find hints of My Brightest Diamond & No Doubt era Gwen Stefani, and it's all love from there. Word on the street is that both Grace Joyner & Frederick the Younger have 2020 releases coming at the turn of the year, so definitely check out their previous works on Spotify & Bandcamp for a lead in, and hit them up while they're on tour 🎶.
