"Delay, Deny, Depose" - A poem about *gestures wildly*
"Richest Man Alive" - A poem about how all the richest people seem to lack basic human empathy and despite having the ability to make a lot of good change in the world, decide to be comically evil supervillains instead. aka capitalism strikes again
"Toska" - A poem about grief, loss, and regret.
Based on my character Wissen Feur.
Toska is an 'untranslatable' Russian word with a variety of meanings, best described as "a mixture of pining, restlessness, yearning, nostalgia, melancholy, and depression."
I think it fits.
"The Poem and the Poet" - A poem about scrutinizing yourself even though it hurts so you can create off of it. Started as me riffing off of the whole "Always the poet, never the poem" and "to be loved by a writer/poet" type phrases, kind of escalated beyond that.
"Sacrificial" - A poem about the United States and living in one of the so-called 'sacrificial states'.
"Blood-Soaked Fangs" - A poem about hiding your true self from your loved ones, and only admitting the truth when you don't have a choice. This one is written in the perspective of my character Blake Sable.
"Sinful Guilt" - A poem about guilt and regret over hurting someone you care about. This too is written in the perspective of my terrible, terrible son, Azazel Strake because I cannot be stopped.
"Terribly Close" - A poem about yearning & hiding feelings to prevent damaging already established connections. This is written from the perspective of my beautiful miserable son, Azazel Strake
