Today marks a whole year since I graduated from DigiPen and got my bachelor's degree in digital art and animation. I still can't completely wrap my head around all that has happened since that day. I was so ready for the future, but also so nervous. The following six months would feel like an eternity, plugging away at my portfolio, searching for positions, applying for TONS of positions, getting rejected or never hearing back from most of those positions. . It would take 2 months before I had my first ever real phone interview, which was went.. pretty poorly 😅 then another 3 months until I got another real lead and had my next phone interview. Then finally, I got contacted by a recruiter about a position, applied, got a request for an art test 😊 The day I submitted the art test I received a request for an in person interview, three days later I had that interview, and that same day, I got offered the job, at Minecraft!!! I was, and still am, completely over the moon. But I also learned alot. . To all those DigiPen students who graduated yesterday, and the years before, don't ever get discouraged. Though it may be hard not to sometimes, remember your work has amazing value, and things taking time is never a bad thing. AND getting the job isn't the be all end all. I want everyone to remember the things I kept forgetting; Never base your self worth in things out of your control, and you are awesome for having the courage to do what you love in the first place!! So continue kick but everyday, and do what you love, and good things will come, because you f*ing deserve it!!! ♥️♥️✨✨ . . #art#artist#gradof2018#alumni#digipendragons#digitalart#animations#womeningames https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw2O-VyFHwC/?igshid=zk2dnab8xxna
