Marcia's breath is cut short when Grady comes up to her. Her arm wraps around his shoulder as her fingers touch his face, a light smile playing on her lips.
His touch is the key and she's lost to him. As he moves her to the couch, her whole body is caught up in his embrace. If there has been one thing in their marriage that Grady has gotten right is knowing how to please her. From day one she never had to fake for him. It's like when he touched her he spoke to her soul. Secretly making her wish the two of them only existed at these times - at night. When she didn't control him. When she let him be free with her because nothing mattered other the need to satisfy the other.
Till this day she still curses the day she'd broken his pride in bed. She'd ripped it through her need to correct and since hasn't known how to give it back.
It reminded her of her mother's constant nagging of her father. Marcia had been so prone to see it there but blind to her own temperament. On their wedding day, her mother had tried to talk her out of it all. Tell her Grady wouldn't live up to her expectations.
However, on nights like these when his mere touch made her believe in miracles, Marcia felt like laughing at her mother... because at least she could still please her husband.
