my gays, I apparently am not as bad as I thought I was at shooter games. <- played phighting for the first time and somehow pulled a rank on one game
I don't know who needs to hear this but.
Effective communication is great, like it really is great. It solves a lot of problems. Thing is, effective communication requires the two sides to be WILLING/ABLE TO LISTEN TO THE OTHER.
Effective communication, actually, may also require some damn open-mindedness in the core of things. You have to be able to sit there and being told about an argument you aren't agreeing with in the start, to weight it and its values, and sometimes you also have to be able to sit there and think:
"Oh. Maybe I was, in fact, wrong/missing information. And that's fine."
Effective communication really only works if you are willing to let others help you question yourself and your values to evolve. If you're blindly agreeing with others without being able to be critical of them or yourself, well,
I wouldn't trust you with my problems to ask for help.
