[❁] If this is her soul’s true partner, it’s certainly a surprise. He’s small – scarcely taller than her, even – with dull, hardened eyes that say his heart’s got a deadbolted door or three atop it.
And then, on his end, there’s her. She’s small, and moon-faced, with a sickness stuck ‘neath her ribs; she’s neither pretty, nor appearing to possess any defining strength or trait – just a blip of a girl with olivine eyes.
Such a blessing, forgetting likely seemed. [❁]
“But – why?”
[❁] (Perhaps because you don’t know each other, silly girl? Perhaps because you’re frail, perhaps because he dislikes people.)
Inhale, exhale, steady as it goes; an unwavering extension of a broad-palmed hand, and a tilt of her stare towards her own feet. [❁]
“I’m really not so bad, and I doubt I’d dislike you once I get to know you.”
Quite the bothersome situation he had landed himself in here, it would seem. Especially seeing as it was raising more of a fuss than he had first expected it to. After his prior comment he expected he could be on his way yet again, leaving this peculiar situation behind him once more. But alas it seemed as though it was going to require more of his attention, before thing could deteriorate into his departure.
He much preferred to keep himself to himself in all concepts of the terminology, everything panned out far easier for him that way. Even down to the point of pondering his own thought to sum up a valid response to what was being asked of him now. A momentary pause granted as he too glanced away from the other, dull hues wandering elsewhere now.
“I have other things to see to..”
He’d never landed himself in a situation even remotely similar to this one before. Thus he had absolutely no idea what on earth he was supposed to say to adequately bring their conversation to an end. He supposed he could simply kill the other individual, but all things considered, if it could be prevented that was an option that he wanted to avoid.
“--Can’t you find someone else..”
That would probably be better for both of them. He didn't have to deal with the females presence any longer then. He was also sure this would be far happier with a more attentive partner. This being something that he could never be.
