I had the pleasure of photographing Dr. Brian Wansink of Cornell University for Mother Jones. For the shoot I spent a week constructing two, fully non-functioning brain wave analyzers for the food psychologist to wear as he gobbled down cheeseburgers and fries. Such a fun assignment and am blown away by the photo play and layout! #motherjones #onassignment #grainimages

another #echosight inspired collaboration with @tspinski, this time he brings memories from his father's home in Delaware and we mash It up with a view from my current home in #NYC. #thefirststate #grainimages #collablab #onethousandwords #urbanlandscape (at Chrysler Building)
Taking over @echosight with @benlowy last week was a blast. The experience has motivated me to start a new series of collaborations with some of my favorite photographers and creatives. The working title is Collaboration Lab. #collablab (kō-lab-lab) I encourage you to participate too, in the spirit of #echosight, grab a friend and create something together. Then share it with us. We can't wait to see where you take this. For my next collaboration I've partnered up with @tspinski of #grainimages. He brought a fantastic image from the open ocean in the very remote Pacific. We married it with a stand of trees in rural Virginia and the result is #farout.
Farmers harvest broccoli in a field near Casal Di Principe. There is an unknown amount of toxic waste in the groundwater throughout the area, which works it's way into the food supply. No one is sure which crops are good and which contain chemicals.
Waste, dumped in a field over decades, sits on the outer edge of a farm in Caserta. One issue in this southern region in Italy is that no one knows how much toxic waste is buried and where.
Marzia Caccioppoli lost her 8 year old son Antonio last year to a rare form of brain cancer she believes is connected to toxic waste dumping in her community. "I keep everything of his so I don't forget," she said.
