These stories are unbelievable to me primarily because songs don’t often tend to spring fully-formed from even seasoned songwriters, let alone actors who just happen to have seasoned songwriters within earshot, but also because, particularly concerning the song “betty,” the song’s lyrics fit into an album-spanning narrative about a love triangle between three teenagers. We’re supposed to believe he was just singing from James’s perspective (“betty” is from the perspective of James) (James is one of the teenagers), over there in that other room? Come on …

I really do not care at all about “Grammygate” and I find the discourse around it so tiring. People act like Taylor bought Joe a nobel peace prize. Joe did work on folklore and Taylor found that work significant enough to warrant a Grammy. That’s it. It’s her art at the end of the day.

Joe having a Grammy or not having a Grammy for an album that already won AOTY does not in any way affect other artists.

He very clearly doesn’t understand and I find that SO funny. It’s also even more Bad Bitch™️ of her than I’d originally thought because essentially she was like -shocked pikachu face- when she realized Baby Boy had been deprived of his Grammy statuette and was just getting a certificate and she set about to fix this grave injustice. And the thing is it was defs her herself because she would’ve needed to provide the evidence that he was there so she got out all the footage of him in studio 😭😭💀💀 and evidently didn’t bother to tell him 😭😭💀💀 just presented him with it like “HERE U GO BABY BOY!!!”
