Chihiro broke out of her musings at the clink of the bell that signaled entry into the shop. It won't do to be zoning out on the job, she admonished herself mentally. Putting herself together, she walked over to the door to greet her customer.

"Welcome to the shop! May I help you with anything?" she asked, unable to contain her cheerfulness.

[Draco begins rubbing the top of his left upper arm nervously, pursing his lips, not really wanting to answer. He knows he has to but it’s…difficult. It’s difficult because the answer was so plainly simple that he didn’t want to have to explain it. He rather preferred to shrug it off with an insult. That would be easier, surely.]

              [He winces as he recalls that memory, a chill running through him like ice down his spine. Heart beating mildly faster, he could almost feel the faint burn on his forearm…where the mark was faded but still insistently printed…

[There was no enchantments….no charms…absolutely nothing that could cover it up. As far as he was concerned, it’d follow him till the day he died. ]

"Prove something." he said, a muscle in his jaw flexing, feeling like ice was on the tip of his usually quick tongue. "At the time…no one thought I was…able to. Worthy of it maybe. The reason they gave it to me was solely to get back at my father since he decided to bloody screw up…They were just pissing around when they decided that it’d be a dandy idea to give the oh-so-grand mark to his only son and heir and send him on a bleedin’ suicide mission."

           [ he paused. ]

"They believed I would fail. I wanted to prove them wrong…Even if I’d die trying to keep pace…..Not sure if I even regret it that much to this day. Because I may be cursed and all with it…but in the end I came out…and they didn’t."

                       "--Did I want it? No."
