NaGraNoWriMo

Well that didn’t happen like I would have liked it, pfff.

I did complete the script, I printed it, I sketched some thumbnails. Then an overwhelming wave of apathy and fatigue set over me and I could do very little to keep my mind moving in any direction I wanted to.

In the meantime, I read new comics, old comics, read fanfiction, cleaned my house, cleaned my parent’s house, did all this with the intent of giving the Grano another shot when my energy returned.

And now it’s the 30th.

This by no means is going to end today, I will complete it in due time. My new deadline will be with the NaNos of the world, November 30th. With the extra time, I’ll expect to have thumbs completed and pages laid out in large format.

But as always, expectations are not reality. 

I don’t want to minimize my failure, though my sudden push to draw and write and work on a project was very ambitious, I still feel like it was something I could have accomplished. And I don’t want to blame poor timing for my apparent laziness, so I just have to take this in stride.

It didn’t work out. My life isn’t over. I still have a script and some thumbs to show for what little work I got done over the past month. It wasn’t nothing. And I’m going to be proud of that.

Much like my poor attempts at NaNo, it just isn’t within me to work on demand. Not at this time, maybe not ever. I don’t know. Who does?

Day 2....6!

Ha, been a few days. I worked a little here and there but nothing to write home about pfff. But! I did a giant push today and I now have almost the whole script for the short comic I wanted to do. After tomorrow I should be able to start drawing, yay!

I did end up changing where the first script was going, I scrapped it and went in a more.. pure direction. Since this is a chance for me to get back into scripting, drawing, comicking all around, I think that trying to do too much with the script overall was going to just hold me back. So! I basically transcribed the original into script format with panel descriptions so I can get on to the next step. Yeah!

According to my script, I have 12 pages of comic. Meh? I know I wanted more but I knew it was going to be short. But! Something is better than nothing. Honestly, if it ended up 3 pages I’d be happy if I finished it, so there’s that.

If I’m able to finish the sketched pages, I’ll start another storyboard, possibly with more script leeway to keep pushing myself.
