Uses of Granular Activated Carbon
Granular activated carbon (GAC) is a porous adsorbent with a large specific surface area and strong adsorption capacity, which is widely used in various fields due to its excellent performance and environmental friendliness.
In water treatment, GAC is a core material for purifying drinking water and industrial wastewater. It can effectively adsorb organic pollutants, residual chlorine, odors, and heavy metal ions such as lead and mercury in water, improving water quality and making it safe for use.
In air purification, GAC is commonly used in air purifiers and ventilation systems. It can adsorb harmful gases like formaldehyde, benzene, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as well as odors, creating a clean and healthy indoor environment.
Additionally, GAC plays an important role in food and beverage processing, such as decolorizing and deodorizing sugar, fruit juices, and edible oils. It is also used in solvent recovery, gas purification in industrial processes, and even in medical and environmental protection fields for waste treatment.
