This week features a radical collaborative project called “Remember | Resist | Redraw“ with works by artists and writers committed to promoting art, activism, and alternative history in Canada through posters. They are to share (and sharing is highly encouraged!!), and are posted on the project website with an essay that gives context to each poster.
“These posters offer alternative perspectives on well-known historical events, and highlights histories of Indigenous peoples, women, workers, and the oppressed that are often overlooked or marginalized in mainstream historical accounts.”
As mentioned in the last post, this is one of the posts dedicated to projects resisting 150 years of historical “forgetting” and “erasures” as the Canadian settler-colonial state approaches its’ 150th anniversary. These gorgeously radical posters are make marvel at the creative ways in which people are resisting dominant narratives and engaging in the power of co-learning outside of schools.
Check it out!
