deadly things in little packages

When he fires on her, he does not expect her to be bullet proof. He simply shoulders the long rifle that is much too large for him, the tripod braced on the edge of his nest and breathes deeply. The trigger squeeze is perfect, the exact poundage to release the cartridge, spent casing flying out one side as the bullet spirals through the air after a reverberating, whip-crack sound.
One shot-one kill is for amateurs. This bullet rips through two men before it reaches his target. Normally, the assassin known only as The Boy would not be using such an excruciatingly high-powered rifle, but he has been assured that he will need it. His arrogance has caught him, and some misinformation, unfortunately, for the bullet has been sufficiently slowed for her armor to cushion the rest.
The armor he does not know she has.
