You’ve never heard the Grateful Dead’s “Bertha” like this before.

Lockn’ is now streaming the track from Grateful Grass, Keller Williams’ rotating band of Dead pickers and grinners. This iteration features Williams, Jeff Austin and Keith Moseley and Michael Kang of String Cheese Incident and it smokes.

This is 10 minutes of infectious and high - but not lonesome - bluegrass. The cut, which also makes musical allusions to “Cumberland Blues,” appears on “DOS,” an upcoming live album recorded Dec. 7, 2013, at San Francisco’s Fillmore.
