Hi there, I'm actually studying audio fiction right now and have been a judge on a panel for an audio fiction contest. Because the Bright Sessions is so character based, I want to ask how you as writers and actors, make these characters into creations that really only work in audio fiction? How do you feel that you utilize character development in that format?
I don’t think I’ve ever thought of Dr. Bright as being a character that only works in audio fiction. I think all the best stories out there, whatever the format, are character-based. At least those are the stories I prefer. As an actor, there really hasn’t been much of a difference for me in creating my character in the podcast format versus any other format, other than I don’t have to completely memorize my lines. Also, audio is dialogue heavy, so for me, it feels more like a play than a lot of films or TV shows out there. -Julia
As both a writer and actor, I don’t approach audio any differently when it comes to character work. A person is a person, no matter what medium you are building them in. In terms of plot and format, there are some things that are difficult to do in audio. - Lauren
Audio is an interesting medium. We don’t have images to guide the story, so the voice must tell all. One of the ways that I like to better my vocal performance is to be physical in my performance. I often move my arms and gesticulate, trying to interact across from the other actor as though there weren’t a microphone between us. -Charlie
I don’t see a difference there. I try and tell the truth of Caleb in these recording sessions. I think if I was to overthink it or add affectations/help things up for audio…it wouldn’t come across as a real person. I just sit down and do it and feel it and see where Caleb is in me…and I hope that it comes through the mic into your ears with heart and authenticity. - Briggon
I think it’s actually easier. Sometimes when I’m acting for the camera, I have self-consciousness about whether or not I look the part. For this, I can just be me, through the character and it’s a really fun and fulfilling discovery process. I love it. - Alex G.

You are a Sith who is the apprentice to a not well know sith lord
and thats fine with you you follow your lord mostly cause you respect how he goes about using the turning people to the darkside. Instead of forcing and over powering people into the darkside or manipulating them you and your master take those who have been turned away and mistreated to the darkside to harness that anger and emotion into something that can one day be powerful.
Your master said he is passing his work onto you so now you are in charge of a legion of siths who have nothing but the darkside and their want to be more. You will be a force to be reckon with cause all those under you respect you as there true master even almost like a father figure. Some have said you are the most kind hearted sith but if anyone crosses you or your subordinates they will feel your full force power over the dark side
You have a good control over the darkside from years of getting your emotions to work for you instead of the other way around and you use a light pike
