I am not sure if you are still writing Stanford Pines, if you are not please ignore this ask! If you do, I would love to know; do you think, because of his relationship with Bill, does he have any trauma that he unconsciously brings into new romantic relationships?

Hey, been a while since I've been doing anything gravity falls but doesn't mean I won't! 😊

I think Stanford has a lot of trauma from his experience with Bill, though he has had a lot of time post -portal incident to recover, most of that time was spent in the hopes of stopping Bill for good and then after weirdmageddon, when they did finally defeat him, it was repairing/gaining a relationship with his family which became part of his main focus. So ultimately, yes, there is a lot that is likely less resolved than even he thinks!

I think the main point is that a lot of his past wounds, his introverted personality plus his time out of universe have made Stanford both somewhat averse and difficult to get to know -in order to start a relationship- in the first place!

Though if he does get over some of those obstacles and enters a relationship, I think he would be slow to trust you with everything, there are still things he finds uncomfortable to talk about or reveal to his brother let alone someone new; but, you are new to his history, so perhaps with some things it feels less heavy to talk with you about, than it would compared to his family. Though he'd rather not burden anyone or make you worry, he also now realises that it would be wrong to push everyone away. Sometimes he just needs more time to figure things out, an ounce of patience and making him feel less self conscious will go a long way here.

Nightmares are a more regular occurrence than he'd like to admit, he becomes a lot more jumpy, quiet and overprotective of you in those moments - paranoid that something horrible will happen to you, or that you might disappear, like you were a kind of pleasant hallucination. 😢

Similarly his sleep pattern has also been broken, in major part to Bill's torture of him via possession and ford trying to avoid it, so that's leaked into the present. There may be times where you may lose time with each other because he's been up all night working on a project or experimenting, unable to rest due to hypervigilance.

I did start to write a small drabble outline for a fic today, since I'm too inconsistent and slow an artist to draw it out in it's entirety! But I've got ideas for it tat I definitely want to explore! B)

Glad you noticed the monitor! Actually, Hal, Ford and Bill all have one! Bill, well, for obvious reasons lol, Ford because he was deemed dangerous because of his intellect and his collaboration with Bill, and Hal because of a mix of both.

Being Bill's kid as you said, he definitely has some frightening powers and the staff are worried he might not have full control over them because of his relatively new existence (it's a bit more complex than that but I don't want to ramble too much lol) He definitely inherited Ford's resourcefulness as well, on top of being a clever kid, so it's the worst combination possible, which gives the staff all the more reason to worry. I'd say he's dangerous because he has the potential to do a lot of harm, just like his dads, but not because he's an active threat, if that makes sense.

The only silver lining to this whole fiasco is that Hal is a very well-behaved child, so much so that people often wonder how he turned out so well after spawning from two of the most dysfunctional guys to exist lmao. So it's mostly them being cautious but they're mostly afraid of Hal accidentally using his powers rather than intentionally causing harm out of malice.

If anything, he's the staff's favorite for being so cute and easy to handle and most people at Theraprism try their best to accomodate him, given that he hasn't done anything wrong and just had the bad luck of being born the child of Bill and Ford (he does love his dads though, although it's more complicated on their side since he was unexpected) Axolotl is especially fond of Hal, which is super funny because both Bill and Ford constantly make him cry on a aily basis for being so difficult and mean/rude to him haha

Congratulations on finishing your first chapter of Pythagorean Thoughts! I'm really enjoying it, and the backgrounds you did for the Lab/Portal Room look AMAZING. You mentioned that the cast was available, so if it's okay, I have a couple of questions: 1) Dipper, what's holding you back from just straight-up helping Stan? 2) Stan, have you checked your guns recently?? 3) Grenda, can you put Bill in a headlock and make him feel pain - oh shoot wait he'd love that...nvm XD

Thank you! It was a lot of work, but it was totally worth it, and I’m glad I could finish it that quickly :DThe last pages especially took a lot out of me, but gosh am I proud of them hahaha. I legit drew them all in three days! sorry i’m still not over this

Anyway, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed how it’s been so far, but trust me when I tell ya that you didn’t see nuttin’ yet, babay ~Nah, seriously, I do have a LOT of plot stuff going on and am I hyped to get to it :p
