There’s still some time before Fudou gets out from school, so Yagen kills time by loitering on the grounds. There’s a nice tree on the high school campus that looks like a good place for a nap, but he’s hardly sat down when a nice fat rabbit darts out of the surrounding undergrowth. A dart gun and a killer shot later and he’s gotten the fluffy creature unconscious in his hands.

‘What are you doing in a city like this, anyways?’

He’s considering whether to use it for his experiments when footsteps interrupt his thoughts. Looking up, Yagen sees a white-haired boy staring at him--and promptly ignores it.

‘Right.’ he rises to his feet, bunny in hand, and starts walking away. ‘I’m out.’

@gravity-lord-rises More than anything Shade wanted to study the monsters. Did they work like animals, or were they more related to the “computers” he’d heard about in both his land and this one? Learning of their origin might reveal a weakness. But to do so, Shade had to capture one alive. The first issue was finding one that traveled alone--for some reason, the beasts often traveled in packs. This was a problem that the Dark God overcame, though, with enough searching. A crawling lizard-dog thing was stalking through the streets by its lonesome. Then there was the issue of getting the beast still without killing it. He had some rope from his scavenging expeditions before the monsters came, but the monster’s teeth, claws, and spikes could probably cut through it. Maybe he could knock it unconscious, then tie it up so tightly that it couldn’t even squirm. Shade jumped down from his rooftop and pointed a heroic finger at the creature. “Just wait until you see what I have in store for you, demon. Those who defy the Gods deserve the fate placed unto them.” But there was something else. Shade caught sight of a black silhouette in the distance, coming his way. It wasn’t long before he recognized the form to be his old ally. “You... Lotus, right? We’re friends, aren’t we?” He shouted, “Why don’t you help me out? I plan to capture this thing without killing it.”

Galekh figured he needed to get a move on.

At this point, he was more worried about his own self-preservation over anything else, rushing off to areas of Archimedes he wasn’t familiar with in the slightest. Marble walls, Greek architecture, he got turned around in his urgency to escape, eventually throwing caution to the wind and ducking inside what looked to be a storage room for a larger eatery, pulling the door shut behind him with a heavy sigh.

His relief was short lived, though, for once he noticed someone else was in the room, his frayed nerves gave out on him and he jumped, pushing himself against the wall before processing that the other figure wasn’t a threat.

“O- Oh, geez, I-“

He cleared his throat, adjusting his glasses a bit.

“I- I’m sorry. You startled me there, I didn’t… expect anyone else to be in here.”

The situation they’re thrust into seems grim upon first glance. The monsters that swarm them are large in number, and at times in size as well, but they are neither brutish nor particularly intelligent. In essence, they are standard fare for an adventurer and dungeon conqueror as experienced as Sinbad, who has faced far worse seven times over. Some of them may even be dungeon creatures, but they don’t live long enough for him to identify them.

Such is the beauty of a djinn equip. A single djinn can grant him enough power and versatility to take out dozens of monsters with little to no effort at all, and he has seven djinn at his side. With his power alone, there should be no danger to the island and its citizens... 

Until the magoi flowing from Baal’s vessel ceases abruptly, leaving Sinbad in jeopardy as the scales disappear from his body. Without a djinn equip to keep him afloat, all he can do is hope for the best as he plummets to the ground.

this is literally the final arc of magi in a nutshell.

‘Since you’re so great, why not give me a hand?’

‘Ground-up lotus root makes a great health soup.’

He’s picking up his knife and looking for the best place to slice through the tendons…

     oh, gods above, he’s so screwed he’s so screwed he’s done for he’s real close to being finished --

     he’s not even sure how he got into this, in the first place! he was flying and he definitely hadn’t expended all his time and suddenly he’d started falling even when his wings were still glowing like the sky! there’s few people around to see the sight of a large bird failing to fly, and that’s both a miracle for him and a curse in itself: how is he expected to stop himself from getting finished off by mere fall damage when his wings won’t slow him down? ( granted, it’s not too high off, so maybe he’ll just suffer a bruise, but who wants an injury anyway? not him! )

     and then he spots someone else along the way. two people, actually! that’s perfect, as long as he can yell out to them for enough help before he hits the ground!

     “ Hey, can I get any help here? Please? I’d really rather not break a wing, sorry! ”
