I use NovaSkin online to make my mc skins! It gives you the layers options and gives you the 3d model to work with so you know what the model will look like when its done. You can also directly upload it to your account when your done!

I recommend using one of those online skin makers, you can paint your skin directly onto the model and see what the shading looks like - there’s even a toggle for the extra layer!
I’ll have a look at those, but I’ve typically found them very difficult to use. i’m also really particular about my use of colour and a lot of them don’t even have hex code inputs :s
but the main problem i’m having is actually more of a “how do i shade this flat 3d object in such a way that it looks three dimensional?” I’m trying a top-down light source, but everything is just a rectangle with no definition, and it’s hard to place the shading appropriately because of the way the skin attaches to the model (i.e. the “inside” of the left arm is the “outside” of the right arm, so you can’t just shade the “inside” and get away with it).
it’s a lot easier with the blocks and objects (although i do have to touch up a few here and there) but for some reason it’s very hard for me to wrap my head around skinning the entities.
gravity-rocks replied to your post: what is 17776 and why are we calling it homestuck
It’s a lucid experience, but there’s a crazy amount of effort put into this thing. The creator is a mad genius
OH!!! i'm gonna... look into it cuz every1's making it seem interesting LOL... thank ya

To be fair, like you’ve probably heard a million times, Hussie got incredibly unlucky with The Odd Gentlemen- I bet that sucked up a majority of the time and money (money which also went into creating backer rewards, so it wasn’t pure profit), not to mention when he reconstructed a small team, people were apparently hired that lied about their abilities (programmers that couldn’t code, etcétera) because the person in charge of hiring was incompetent.

But on the bright side, the other acts should come much sooner! They will have already done the coding and main character models, and I bet the story is more planned out than ever due to the amount of time to mull over it :)
look i’m in an exceptionally bad mood today so i will try not to be too rude here but i really really don’t want to hear anything about why hiveswap is late and how anyone should feel about it. i’m already well aware of many of the circumstances. my post was me being really frustrated about seeing a couple of particularly obnoxious posts one after the other and i’m sick of hearing about it.
You can totally color the outline I made, that would be awesome!!
gasp! give me sec, i think i was playing around with the flat colours and stopped before shading let’s see...
did you know that trying to get green to glow on red DOES NOT WORK. got a few things i want to fix, like the cape gradient, and sans’ soul, and i want the cyan wings to have a little more green.
Hey, I know I keep messaging you, buuut... Have you thought about the amalgamates? They could be Ditto, but merged together... Maybe? Other goopy Pokemon: grimer/muk, Goomy Pokemon that fit specific amalgamates: Vanilluxe as snowdrake's mother, weezing as Memoryheads (because they both look like multiple things fused) Just trying to spark ideas!
Oh no, gosh message all you want guys, I’m usually pretty lonely here lmao XD I have 3 asks stored atm because I want to doodle something to answer them but ... can’t from uni haha. But yeah no worries <3
I have not thought past the neutral path charries yet. My intention is to do the neutral path, then the pacifist path exclusive charries. It’s not like pokemon hasn’t given us genetic experimentation (genesect, mewtwo, etc) so I figure I’ll think of something!
Okay, but have you considered Alphys as an Abra? I dunno, their names were sorta similar and it looks like Abra is squinting, so it would be really cute if she had to wear glasses ^-^ And it's supposed to be a very smart Pokemon! Abra has these little ears that also look like a ridge, and I think a psychic type would fit Alphys better..? It's up to you in the end :)
Oh.
OH.
Oh my gosh. I had NOT and I am totally digging this actually. I’ll have to draw both, but I think I might have a winner here!
