(disclaimer: i am not an enneagram expert nor do i claim to know dnp, this is all just my speculation cause i love enneagram)
dan is 4w3. and im not just saying that because i am 4w3 and i tend to project lmao. dan wants to be unique. he wants to be remembered. he has this deep need to make an impact on the world (see his queer and mental health activism). fours need validation, they are plagued with self doubt. more than anything we want control over all this. how we are perceived. but obviously that’s not always easy, so we freeze up instead of actually making anything which just makes us more sad because fours deep down are creative people and threes are performers and when we get caught up in overthinking everything it just makes everything worse. 4w3s are goal orientated, and we want to be special. and we are so very self aware lmao. the way dan thrives in creative and performative ventures. the way he talks about his legacy and his fears of lack of control. fearing permanence. 4w3s also tend to lean towards 2 (the caregiver) when they are stressed, which i think is also evident in some of the stories we have heard. when 4w3s are healthy, they lean towards one, and tend to become passionate activists and advocates (cough 2019-20 dan).
phil is 9w1. they’re creative, friendly, hardworking. they are afraid of losing whats important to them. they tend to be optimistic and avoid conflict. they are open minded, have a deep purpose, and want to make people happy. they can also be anxious, can sometimes be seen as aloof, and can overlook their own needs. phil has talked about how he has ignored stuff that’s going on with him in favour of others or work. its easier to focus on something else. phil is also creative, but he creates out for lack of a better word. he wants to try new things and come up with new ideas and push boundaries. nines want peace, they want to protect the people they love and they want to connect. 9w1s are either called dreamers or negotiaters, and either way i think it makes sense. phil has these big ideas, he has this insanely creative brain and he wants to do something with. the negotiator part comes from the ones need for fairness, phil cares so deeply about everyone, wants to make sure everyone is comfortable, thrives when he brings joy to others. when 9s are stressed, they lean towards 6, long for safety and tending to be anxious. want to stay somewhere where they are comfortable. when they’re healthy, they act more like threes. performers. enough said.
