Eminence was sitting on his bed as usual, reading a history book about Carcosa. It's interesting, but unfortunately barely comprehensible to his self.
The sound of boots against stone caught his attention, but he refused to look up.
It's been a few months now, since his confinement, the Prince visited once a week during this, Grayscale every day. Their conversations are... Nonexistent at worst, very short at best. Eminence didn't really do much except answer with hums or blatantly ignoring Grayscale.
As expected, the guard appeared in front of the bars, hand resting one of them.
"I'm not your Moonlight."
Eminence groaned and finally looked at him, book snapping shut.
"How many times are you going to keep saying that, Jamie?"
"Until you know I really do regret what I did."
The two stared at each other, before the Viscount scoffed and opened the book again. Now he couldn't even understand the words on the paper because he can't focus.
"I didn't, that was my fault."
"Now I'm stuck here because of you."
"I can't go out anymore. I miss the sun, the sky, the snow, the crisp morning air. I can't do shit anymore."
"Oh my god, will you quit apologising?! I'm only ranting, I'm not expecting you to answer everything!"
Grayscale kept his mouth shut. Eminence sighed and got off the bed, placing the book on the nightstand, and walked up to the gate that separated them, one hand held Grayscale's, which rested on the metal.
"You do realise I'm still mad at you, right?"
His other hand moved through a gap between the bars and grabbed the guard by the top of his chest plate, pulling him into a kiss.
Once separated, Grayscale stared at him, stunned, mouth half open as he processed what just happened.
Eminence let go and looked away, failing to hide his blush.
"For the record, I forgive you."
