Thinking about how Terry was in love with Brad within the first five minutes that they met but he doesn’t tell him unless you literally kill him
just think about it: it’s yours and graysons first christmas time living together. the both of you thought it would be fun to decorate the house but you kept disagreeing with the little things like ‘let’s put some music on’ ‘no, but i want to talk’ ‘we can talk while listening to music’ ‘ok then put a christmas playlist on’ ‘but i don’t wanna listen to christmas music right now’ ‘...grayson we’re literally getting ready for christmas’. or disagreeing about which ornaments looks good in that one specific place... and when everything is ready the both of you decide to watch a christmas movie, which leaded ‘let’s watch this one’ ‘ugh i don’t like that one... is so cliché’ ‘grayson it’s a christmas movie, it’s always cliché’ ‘yeah ok let’s watch it then’, the movie starts and both of you would be cuddling on the couch when grayson turns his face to you while you keep your focus in the movie ‘you know what would be a lot easier?’ ‘what’ ‘having a third, impartial person here with us’ you turn your face to him ‘you talking about ethan? cause he would definitely pick my side’ he sighs ‘no, woman, i’m talking about... like... a baby...’ he says with a kind of nervous tone in his voice ‘...our baby?’ you say with a smile growing on your face ‘yeah... they’d have to be 100% impartial, right?! they can’t have a favorite parent’ you laugh ‘yeah they can’t’ he smiles and touch your face ‘so... what do you think?’ ‘i think that’s a great idea’ you smile, reaching up to start kissing him...
Story time
So my high school physics teacher used to be a bouncer back in the Oregon grunge scene in the late 80's up through the mid/late 90's and he's worked with several icons such as Layne Staley and Eddie Vedder. But my personal favorite interaction he had was with Kurt and Courtney in '93.
He was overseeing the openers and making sure the show would run smoothly when Courtney and Kurt just started screaming at each other - he and Dave Grohl sprint over to them, Dave takes Frances, and my teacher puts COURTNEY LOVE IS A GODDAMN BOUNCER HEADLOCK. Now he's a good 5'6/5'7 and Courtney is every bit of 5'10 so even imagining this entertains me.
He held her hands above her head until she quit screaming and calmed down while Kurt passed out in the dressing room.
Anywho just thought I'd share.
I really need to update my links ,, I might do that later nd possibly ask for promo idk,
Asphodel chapter twelve rough draft is done! It’s pretty well constructed, so I don’t anticipate the second draft taking long. It’s a fun one! Looking forward to sharing it with you people.
I'm doing a thing where I ask internet strangers for book recs
So do you have any book recommendations? :)
Hmmm yes! I love reading even though I don’t have the attention span for it anymore. I mostly read nonfiction with the occasional bit of mean, fucked up fiction thrown in for zest.
As far as fiction goes, I’m a huge fan of Kurt Vonnegut. I can breeze through one of his books in a couple hours, great stuff. My favorite of his is Breakfast of Champions, been one of my favorites since I was a teenager. I revisit it every now and then. A newer favorite is American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. I know this one isn’t for everyone due to the sheer nastiness of the content, but it managed to both seriously disturb me and make me laugh out loud, often one after another. If American Psycho isn’t for you but you still want something gay and fucked up, I recommend The Sluts by Dennis Cooper. It reads like a lolcow documentary if it were about gay snuff pornography, and it’s great fun. And, I don’t know if I can attest to its quality, but John Dies At The End by David Wong is a huge comfort read for me. That shit happened to me my sophomore year of college.
I looooooove nonfiction and wish it got talked about more. I only really started to get into it within the past few years, but I love learning stuff. One of my favorites of all time would be Unmask Alice: LSD, Satanic Panic, and the Impostor Behind the World’s Most Notorious Diaries by Rick Emerson. Hard to believe so much harm was done by one (1) Mormon lady, and also Richard Nixon. We really should have assassinated that guy, huh? Anyway another good one if you want to hate America is Operation Paperclip: The Secret Intelligence Program that Brought Nazi Scientists to America by Annie Jacobsen. I grew up in the Tennessee Valley, kind of in the shadow of Werner Von Braun. Another guy we should have killed. Another great one I read recently is Number Go Up by Zeke Faux. Financial fraud is a special interest of mine, and this book had plenty of that. Finally, if you’re into cults, Empire of Orgasm: Sex, Power, and the Downfall of a Wellness Cult by Ellen Huet proves that women really can do it all (run an abusive sex cult)!
Also, I know you didn’t ask for poetry, but Memorial by Alice Oswald changed my life and is way better than that song of achilles book I always see you people fujoing out over. Read some poetry.
