They have NO excuse.
Okay, so, I just finished watching KPop Demon Hunters like 15 minutes ago as I type this post and I watched it going in completely, totally blind and not knowing anything about the production, the early concepts - I just finished watching the film and it's... pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie 😎
One thing I love was how the trio of Rumi, Zoey and Mira kinda unintentionally symbolize the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit which I found pretty cool since it's a story about how a person can battle literal and figurative demons, so that nod to Christianity was pretty sweet to see. Again, whether intentional or not, I liked it!
Overall, that storyline too, of what makes a demon evil and what part of them can be redeemed was just great to see, because religion and faith (the great side of it), or even that mythology, is hardly talked about or shown in film in a universal way without a hidden kind of side agenda the writers will force on the audience. So the positive side of just having a community and being proud to show your faults, your mistakes, without shame was a great aspect to see as well.
It did make me kinda sad honestly while watching a few scenes to be reminded of how well Disney used to do those kinds of messages too before they went to shit, but... that's a post for another day - the movie was still good!
Also, the tiger and the bird are flawless little guys and I will riot if anything happens to them in a possible sequel!!!
Axel Gilberto is my husband, just so everyone knows. I don't make the rules.
Anyways, ep 1 of Lazarus was spectacular! Amazing soundtrack (a standard for Watanabe's projects), an interesting cast of characters, and great animation! Not to mention that I love the story, so far.
10/10!
A new Animated Film that will Blow you Away
Hey, one of the best animators, Tom Bancroft (known for Mulan, Pocahontas, Brother Bear, VeggieTales, and the newest Superbook), worked on this beautiful, animated film, from the perspective of a young teenage version of John, the Apostle. It's coming to theaters next month. If you know some littles who can sit still for fantastic animation, then I suggest you take them to see "Light of the World" this September.
[comes to the party 6 years late on watching the Steven Universe movie]
