Assuming we’re talking about Robert Stewart, rather than his father before the title went to his son as a courtesy title, they were friendly for the greatest part of the time that they knew each other. That is, up until and through Castlereagh’s decline into paranoia, which Wellington handled in his usual blunt and practical manner. Eugenio de Beauharnais died in 1824, and I am not quite old enough to have met him. However, my family is from the direct vicinity of the home of the original Landgraves of Leuchtenberg (I spent a lot of time just roaming the ruins of the old Leuchtenberg castle as a kid, as a matter of fact), so by extension, I have some general knowledge on the later Dukes of Leuchtenberg.
