These little facial expressions are just so cute! I can see Vector's really mad at Gru for ignoring his flirtations even though he's been trying so hard lol.
I personally think Vector’s obsession with ruining Gru’s plans is his way of getting Gru’s attention after his failed flirtations, as well as revenge for being ignored earlier.
And when he got the moon, he could’ve just let the girls go, but he didn’t. Even when he was forced to flee, he refused to release them. I believe he just didn’t want his entanglement with Gru to end so abruptly, and never stopped to think whether this had gone too far. Maybe he’s also started enjoying being in control and savoring Gru's anger. It’s a twisted, unscrupulous kind of affection.
