I do imagine Shiki as a motherly character, a caring tsundere. She would be comforting, even with her loud and annoying nature. Hehe. <3 She would make a good mother in a way.. Which makes her perfect with Adrian, since he would become the most overprotective papa. XD

He didn't really sleep that much that night.
He was scared. Not for him. But for her. What if this happened again to her? He was moving schools next year, so he was afraid. He wouldn't be able to protect her, he wouldn't be able to watch her everyday. If she ever fell, who would catch her? If she tripped while walking down the hallway, who would help her up? He was scared. Nervous. And he was never like this.
He hugged his knees, the cold wind continued blowing. He wondered how the girls were comfortable. They had knee-length socks and knee-length skirts and 3/4 skirts.. Then again, in a way, they were trying to keep themselves warm. Emily was cuddling with Michael in a way. Steph held Vienna's hand. John had an arm around Alex, and Nina and Richard were hugging.
Shiki's back was on the wall, her cheeks had a light pink-ish tint to it. She was exhausted. Her ankle was not getting any better, due to all the running she had to do today, it got worst. Her head fell on his shoulder comfortably as she mumbled.
"Alive."
They were alive. He was alive. And so far, everyone was definitely alive. Hurt. But alive. Injured, but alive. And their goal, was to get out alive. Every single one of them.
"Hmm...?" Shiki said, looking at him. "Oh. You're up..." He said. "A-ah.. Yeah... Wh-why are you still awake? W-we're safe here. You don't h-have to g-guard u-us you know..." She said, her teeth chattering. "Yeah... I was just thinking..." He said. "Thinking of what? You should relax. Rest.. W-we have a long day a-ahead of u-us..." She said. "I-I cant.." He said.
"Put your head on my lap Adrian."
He looked at her. "What?" "I said put your damn head on my lap. Lie down." She said. He did. She was demanding, sure, but it was a reason why he liked her. It made her look strong, even if she was weak inside. "What are you going to--" "Shhh... Im going to do the thing I do... I do it a lot because recently, she kept getting nightmares..." 'Was she going to sing?' He thought.
And he was right.
He didn't mind. It was a rare occasion when she sang. Her voice was soft, her hand stroked his hair in a relaxing way. He looked up at her, she was looking down, their eyes met as she started singing.
"I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'll never let you go... When all those shadows almost killed your light..."
'Safe and Sound?' He thought. It wasn't bad. It fit their situation somehow. When one of them cried and begged as she held her companion's hand before she could fall to her death, and when the spirits and the demons tried to seperate them, hurt them, and even kill them.
"EMILY!"
She screamed loudly, her tears flowing down her cheeks. "HELP ME!" She said, squeezing her eyes shut. Michael held her hands tightly. "Don't... D-don't let go! P-please! I-I don't want to d-die!" She screams, sobbing. "I won't. Hold on!-- JOHN! ADRIAN! RICHARD! YOU FUCKIN' BASTARDS! COME HELP ME!" He shouts. Emily was pulled by the spirit by her ankles, causing one of her hands to slip. She screams bloody murder. "MICHAEL!" "YOU IDIOTS!" Shiki shouts, pushing John aside and grabbing Michael's hip and pulled him backwards. Emily was feeling relief every time she felt herself being pulled up, but the spirit dragged her downwards. It hissed. Tugging on her ankle. She kicked it off, and it fell to it's death. She landed on the ground safely, panting. Vienna quickly wrapped her arms around the trembling girl, as Shiki gave the boys a looonnnggg scolding.
"You're okay Ems. It's okay..."
He sighed softly, he noticed she stopped, looking around. "Shiki...?" He said, grabbing her chin. "What?" She stared at him. "Continue?"
"I remember you said 'Don't leave me here alone'... But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight..."
They were both alone. Walking. She suddenly collapsed, hissing in pain as she held her ankle. "Shiki..." All of a sudden, a spirit had appeared a few feet behind her. He ran. "ADRIAN!" He looked back to see her and she was in the grasp of the spirit. "D-Don't leave me! PLEASE!" She screamed. "Be quiet you little brat... All we need is the blood of thy mortals... And we'll be free..." It taunted. His blood boiled, and quickly charged.
"Just close your eyes... The sun is going down, you'll be alright... No one can hurt you now... Come morning light.. You and I'll be safe and sound..."
John was on watch this time. Everyone was asleep. Except two. And John. Shiki's eyes were wide open. "Shekinah..." He said, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Go to sleep..." "Im scared..." She said. She was like a fragile child. Fear could be seen in her eyes after that encounter. "I'm here..." He interlocked his fingers with hers... And squeezed her hand tightly. "I'll keep you safe... Go to sleep." Her eyes fluttered close, and her breathing slowed.
"Don't you dare look out your window, darling everything's on fire... The war outside our door keeps raging on... Hold on to this lullaby... Even when the music's gone..."
The spirits banged on the door. Vienna put her hands on her ears, sobbing. "It's okay Vienna... It's going to be alright..." Shiki told her. "Shh..." She said, trying to calm her down. It was her nature to do this, always trying to calm people down. Even if she was under stress, if she had to do it, she would.
As she continued, he thought of everything that happened. They were closer. They were one.
"Just close your eyes... The sun is going down, you'll be alright... No one can hurt you now... Come morning light... You and I'll be safe... And... sound..."
As she finished singing, his eyes closed. Maybe by morning, they'll find the way out of this hell hole. Maybe... There was a chance everyone would get out alive. The light of hope shined brighter than ever before... They would be safe and sound.
