i like to think that pierrot's and harlequin's relationship and dynamic doesn't just change overnight. there is most definitely an in-between period where they are fucking eachother with HATE. pierrot still beats harlequin to a pulp when he flirts too much with mc, but it's moreso kinky foreplay, kind like pierrot is putting him in his place and yk harlequin loves being smacked around a little 🤭🤭
i also like to think that harlequin is pavlov'd into getting turned on by pain this way. when pierrot reaches the point where he feels bad for making harlequin 'suffer' so much and they're falling in love with eachother, harlequin has to awkwardly convince pierrot to choke him while trying to not come off as desperate
