tbh part of the reason i’m waiting until 2018 for the switch is so i have time to see how it does in the first year. well, that and because it’s pretty expensive at launch.

i mean, for a home console, it’s pretty affordable. it’s only about fifty dollars more than the new 3ds was at launch. anyone remember the ps4 launch price fiasco? but despite that i’m still worried it might not be worth even that (comparably) minimal investment. i mean, it has less currently announced launch titles than the freakin’ wiiu did. and sure, it claims to have plenty of third party support, but where are those third party games, then? and as more and more statements come out from game devs, it seems like there’s an asterisk attached to their claims of support that read “but only if the switch does well,” which it clearly cannot do if it doesn’t have any goddamn games at launch. like, okay, fine, the switch has hardware shortcomings compared to other current-gen consoles, but that’s the nintendo way. the nintendo way also says to have really good software at launch so that even though the hardware isn’t up to scratch, there’s still enough incentive for people to buy the console. so where the flying fuck are those goddamn games, nintendo,

     It had been years--

The last time vermillion had set upon that boy clad in green, the both of them had been but young children.  The journey that they both endured in another time was nothing but memory at this point and even then, memories seemed to rest within a haze in Sheik’s mind.

They were not fated in the same way as the Hero of Time.  Certainly they remembered, but not in the same way as him.  Never in the same way as him.

Link would forever have to bear with the weight of that journey.  The duty and responsibility that Sheik had rested upon his shoulders from the very moment they had first met.  It was a quiet regret that the warrior would forever have, weighing uneasily in the back of their mind, uncertain and regretful for what they had put him through.

     They had never expected him to come back.

The visit came as a surprise to them all and all Sheik could feel was jittery anticipation at seeing him once more.  Link had been gone for so very long, off on his own journeys...his own duties...  What had he done during those years gone?  Had he found a place to settle?  Found peace and quiet?

It was what he deserved after all he had been through.  After all they had put him through.

Yet no matter the nervousness that clawed at their chest, still Sheik sought out the Hero in their time free.  The sun had long since settled beneath the horizon as the skies above darkened and stars shined ever so bright.  Perhaps they both found the crisp air of the outdoors a more natural calling to their senses.  It was there that they found him.

He looked lonely without his fairy.  Oh how long it must have been.

“Link.” They spoke yet their voice was mellow and soft, seeming to float rather than cut through the silence.  

“It’s been so very long.  I didn’t think I would of been granted the chance to see you while you were here.”

      –––––––––––– GHOSTING, FEATHERY STEPS TIPTOE AMONGST DEWED FODDER CROP. in broad daylight, a vibrant gown & crowned head was almost too noticeable for comfort; crossing the courtyard with guards at her heels as if this were a simple game of cat & mouse ( she spontaneously disliked her analogy––mice were creeping, ill things, & she...! ... was not ). 

      a needed breath is taken once she conceals herself behind the stone pillars of the castle’s front entrance. she slipped by a bit too easily, she analyzed. ( & she wondered if this were a blessing or a curse; guards who are easy to fool aren’t the kind needed in new hyrule. ) shaking away the thought, it is replaced with the agenda of helping link & alfonzo appraise the tracks. 

      ‘pon confirming that her exit was free of surveillance, a smile is donned as she paces hastily towards freedo––! alarm strikes her at the sight of the green of fields also passing through the corridor, & she’s frozen in place like a deer in headlights. 

      “oh, recruit!” she almost yelps, failing to maintain a calm demeanor. “i––uh, i didn’t––wasn’t...” trying to leave again. zelda mentally panics, trying to find the words to allow her to slip by. “i mean––why... aren’t you at your post?”

Quite honestly, he’s fond of most types of weather that aren’t rain. He fucking despises rain with a burning passion. Even worse when there’s thunder and lightening – the sights and sounds often cause flashbacks to random points in his quest, always during heat-of-the-moment acts of violence. It’s quite obviously a shitty experience, so yeah, he’d definitely prefer for thunder to like, not exist. Rain in general though he hates. He knows it waters the crops and harkens in the changing of seasons, but that doesn’t mean he has to like it. Too many shitty things have happened to him in the rain. Not to mention that it makes the probability of getting sick or getting an infection that much higher. Basically, fuck rain.

His favorite weather is the kind that comes during the transitory parts of the year. He loves when autumn fades into winter, when winter fades into spring, when spring fades into summer, and when summer fades into fall. He enjoys the more mild weather that comes about during those times, the moderate temperatures and humidity, the sweet, cool breeze of change. He loves sunny days with just a few perfectly-crafted puffs of clouds floating through the sky, the sunlight filtered through the leaves of a forest. He loves sunrises peeking over the horizon and walking through dew and morning mists. He loves sunsets and the melancholic calm at the dying of the day. He loves the weather that brings change.
