The Lovely Husband and I had a teensy tiny little mini break, just one night away, and it was just what we needed 💕 We stayed just over an hour away in a nice traditional inn, went out for lunch, did some Christmas shopping, went to the cinema to see the Terminator movie (drapes, anyone?!) and went out for dinner. Then we had a blooming good sleep 😴
It’s so vital to take time to just be together and focus on each other, once in a while. Proper eye contact, intent listening with no distractions and lots of cuddles. No matter how much you love your baby, they do need pretty much 100% of your focus and energy, so a few hours here and there to yourself makes a big difference. It was really refreshing to not have to be constantly planning ahead to the next nap or feeding time, and also to not have to be home for Cosima’s bedtime. It was a bit strange to be out in the dark, actually!
Grandma did a stellar job looking after Cosima and Cosima did a stellar job keeping to her routine and not being at all upset at having a change in ‘personnel’. I feel like we have a secure attachment and Cosima knows she can always trust me to come back to her. I was so proud of them both!

Greene King Brewery Morland “Old Golden Hen” 4,1% vol. Suffolk, UK
Greene King brewery tour was really interesting today. Fascinating machinery and a nice bit of history.
