He’s lost count of how many times he —— and the rest of the team —— owed her their lives. How many times her unbound intellect had overcome obstacles deemed impossible or implausible. The Castle on its last limbs , something of ʜɪs ᴏᴡɴ ᴄᴜʀsᴇ’s doing , salvaged by her forward thinking alone. There’s gratefulness instead of offense ; an understandable precaution that he would have never ordered to cease otherwise. He never wanted his team in danger ——— and never imagined it would be by his own hand.
❛ I’m so sorry you had to go through something like that. You saved everyone. Sometimes people even need saving from themselves. ❜

princess zelda had called for an emergency of sorts when the gigantic robotic lions had descended from the sky . link was at the ready to defend as best as he could , ready to give his life again when he faced them . he was sure that was going to be the case given the size of the MONSTERS , but was pleasantly surprised when those that emerged from them were hylian in appearance save the ears and dress .
it was odd , how they explained what was happening , who they were , why they’d landed in hylia . but . . . they seemed honest , and the princess had decided to trust them , so link was put at ease . at least for the time being . he would still follow and watch them carefully , but as long as they left soon like they’d said , he’d be fine .
now , he was watching the green paladin . she was working on some sort of sheikah slate - esque device , furiously typing away against a board . link eyed her , silent as he polished his sword . a quiet THREAT should anyone decide to test them .

Okay, so maybe tinkering on your prosthetic leg before a battle wasn’t the best idea he has ever had. In fact, it may have been the worst.
Right when he was about to kick his opponent in the chest to create some space between them, his leg stopped working. It just froze. Kind of like one of those old computers. It wasn’t exactly out of power, it just wouldn’t listen to the signals his brain was sending it. And so he was kicked back against the wall with a loud thud.
He had to be fast now, or he wouldn’t be able to tell the tale. Matt originally hadn’t planned on killing the Galra, but now didn’t see any other choice. He couldn’t exactly run. As soon as the Galra charged, Matt lift his staff and slammed his weapon out of his hand, but not before he managed to shoot him right at his side, searing through the skin and some of the flesh. Changing the angle right after, Matt quickly hit the alien against his temple, the man immediately dropping to the floor.
Panting, but trying to keep quiet in case there was another Galra nearby, Matt activated his comm. ‘’Hey.. uh... I don’t know if anyone’s close to the control room.. but I’m in trouble.. My leg’s stopped working, if anyone else comes in I don’t think I’ll manage’’ Especially not if they had a gun.
He had started bleeding by now too, flinching as he inhaled sharply, hand pressing onto the wound.

She was frozen in place, class was over and acxa had missed half the lessen just staring at the brunette, she had sent at least a dozen texts to lance asking for his help, who never gave a response. “dammit acxa get a hold of yourself.” muttering under her breath she headed out the classroom door, she had dropped one of her text books out of the satchel she was carrying without realizing.
❛ man oh man does it feel good to be outta that hospital bed, don’t you agree ? ❜ LANCE QUESTIONED CURIOUSLY with a smile in pidge’s direction, stretching his arms out above his head⸻ granted, they were all still pretty black and blue, but it was nice to be able to do the rest of their healing on their own time. ❛ i’m gonna get right back to training as soon as possible. ❜

“ You’re commander HOLT’S daughter, is that correct? It was good to see a SMILE on his face in trying times. Welcome home, Soldier. I’m glad you made it. “ To his credit, at least he doesn’t SALUTE her, though he considers it. She’s so SMALL -- so young that it hurts him to think of the impact of war on one so YOUNG. He remembers being her age -- What is she, barely 18 now? He was her age when he enlisted.
“ They call you the brightest mind of your generation you know. “ He sets the box of supplies down for her, a delivery for whatever it is she’s working on.
