Misaki wondered if the lad was all right. He was swaying on his feet and his eyes were wild.

She looked at “the terrible beast” that was threatening her, and it resembled a rather large tree stump. But, she didn’t want to argue. In any event, no one could accuse Lee of not being brave.

“Th-thank you, Lee.”

Gai approaches his pupil and places a firm hand down on his shoulder. He had been watching Lee brooding with a sad look on his face for the last few minutes, and his instincts caused him to approach Lee with a positive demeanour, in hopes of cheering up his beloved student. 

❝ Why the long face? Don’t tell me your youthful flames are diminishing?! ❞

He pulls Lee into a firm embrace and lowers his head so that his lips were close to Lee’s ear. Gai’s voice softens to a normal tone, wanting his student to understand that he was concerned, and ready to support him through whatever the boy was currently troubled with.
