Ya they are gonna have to do some drastic stuff to get me on board for this selah nonsense. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the fact that a happily married couple is what's desired here, cause that's rare, but good gosh he's been gone forever and this is a bunch of trash. Come on back Hew, historical accuracy be damned.
Were they ever happily married, though? Were they?? Certainly their marriage was better than others we’ve seen, but nothing special, and it was clear from episode 1 that it was not Selah whom Anna loved (at the time, that being Abe ... and now, hopefully Hew...?). Ugh. I mean, I know that marriages of the day weren’t always exactly love matches, but would it be so terrible for Turn to screw history a bit and let Anna have a more fulfilling ending than a mediocre marriage to a man she never seemed too enchanted with? It’s not like Turn doesn’t screw history enough in other regards.
