Three years ago today (2019) I marched with the teachers up in Eagle Rock. They had been on strike for a while... It was Wednesday I believe and they'd been out in the rain a few days too... Chicano songwriter Gregory Esparza of Thee Midniters writes "Divine Madness" a Vietnam War and Vietnam War era, Chicano Moratorium inspired song with accompaniment by Javier Ceja (2018)... August 29, 1970 marks the 50th anniversary of The Chicano Moratorium where I will join many others walking from Atlantic Park to Salazar park in East L.A. as tomorrow will commemorate the original event while also talking about the struggles today with racism, sexism, and fascism.
