So, the new alts are all so obviously inspired by Slavic traditional/folklore clothing. @jivke was the first one to bring this up on the twitter and it suddenly clicked why those outfits seemed familiar! I tried to find out which ones they were mostly inspired with but after spending my afternoon on this I gave up. So far they seem to be borrowing elements from all over the place, especially ‘cause many of them overlap between multiple areas. Sashes, embroidered shirts, high collars, jewelry, flower crowns, jackets, tassels, even colour schemes of Ike and Titania (although it’s more likely they overlap with their default colour schemes)... etc.
They are still these head-worms that won't go away because some look too specific not to be inspired by a single area (Titania and Soren especially) but it would make sense that the devs would make an imaginary country not inspired by a single country but rather a style.
See some examples of where character designers could have drawn their inspiration from:
Poland (Krakow area) - note the blue short coat with high collar and tassels, white linen shirts and sash around the belt.
Ukraine - the most likely source of inspiration for Titania
Croatia (Posavina) - Some more white and red with a common red breaded necklace; wide pants tied at the sheen (Soren)

There are too many to show all the variety (there’s a lot of Slavic countries and each of them has countless varieties by region; also, Ukrainian flower crowns deserve post just for them - go google that shit), but this might give you an idea. That’s enough for a short lesson in the Eastern European culture. :D
Crimea is a peninsula in Ukraine btw. Crimeans are Slavs now. No take backs. As a Slav, I am personally very amused by that fact. :3
