Radiant Dawn's 4:3 aspect ratio for the story text bothered me more than it should have, and of course I didn't bother messing around with the Wii U settings until after I beat the game. CG cutscenes fit in the 4:3, but they were made in widescreen, so the top and bottom are empty (subtitles notwithstanding) which is fine, I'm just not used to it. Aside from that visual difference, playing the game in 4:3 feels so much better oh my gosh. Getting rid of those colored sidebars, as well as the game being consistent in the same aspect ratio (again, CG cutscenes aside), makes the game feel so much better. Those sidebars made the text scenes of the game feel claustrophobic to me. I did not like them at all. I would've taken those to be stretched for widescreen consistency. It is what it is I guess.
