Thinking about how the Aenerians lost a winning battle for them. They had advanced bug people technology plus their own knowledge of desert survival, magic, and a couple extra centuries on their entire existence. Plus the fucking OKAEM, a soldier of the gods practically who is over 600 years old. The only reason they lost was because someone sold them out on their defenses and people and then got strategically taken out one by one in the night in a calculated sneak attack. Of course, technically one could argue they were not defeated as Rosh still stands, with the path to Rosh even more narrow and dangerous than before with the growing recklessness of the Field Yonder and Field None. I'm thinking of doing some rewriting overall of the pre-genocide battles to flesh them out some more. I got ideas...
