--------- Steve knew he should have been minding his own business. But he could hear the way that the woman’s boss was yelling at her (( Rey, he could have sworn he saw on her name tag )) and well, he was doing EVERYTHING in his power to offer her some kind of way to get a smile on her face. He made sure to be as polite as possible while ordering and he had been going out of his way to add a few jokes into the conversation. He had been sipping at his coffee, looking out the window briefly before he heard small footsteps approaching his table.
The check. Of course.
He’d been sitting here for a while, but truthfully, he’d been enjoying a bit of relaxation. He left home weeks ago -- he’d been exploring ever since. He was tired of the same old day to day activities. He needed ADVENTURE. And sure, maybe packing up all of his things and traveling the country in some beat up truck wasn’t the best option, it was what he decided on. “Thanks.” He said as he took the black booklet from her, putting a twenty in it before handing it back to her, keeping his hold on it as he looked at her. The diner was practically empty -- he wasn’t even sure if this place got much business at all.
“You ever think about getting out of here ??” Maybe he was being too forward. Not maybe -- he was DEFINITELY being too forward. “I fully enjoyed the service, but it’s kind of obvious that you hate it here,” He said, unable to stop a soft chuckle from escaping his lips. “‘Cause I can help with that.” Did he sound like a stalker ?? He was positive he did, but it didn’t even matter. Not at this point. Even if she thought he was the creepiest person alive, he could just leave and never see this place ever again.
