for months ive felt disappointed in myself for never finishing the rivertober prompts purely because i was suffering terrible cramps that last week and not because of loss of motivation, so, ive decided to start doing them again! heres three of them i did a few months ago to get started! happy late rivertober everyone :]

I've come with yet another thought: Grey Wing and River Ripple being like Barley and Ravenpaw. I mean, Ravenpaw has cancer, Grey Wing has asthma, it messes with their hunting and they both die from it in the end.

The only difference is canon Ravenpaw died in Barley's arms, meanwhile the publisher was like "mm, no make them straight" and River Ripple isn't even there to say goodbye. But fuck canon- I'm making my own au. Grey Wing chooses to live his final days in River's camp to be with his husband before biting the dust.

They spend most of their time together, cuddling and bickering until Grey Wing's asthma get's the better of him and he dies. I'd like to imagine that it would be on sunningrocks, where they're cuddling and enjoying the warmth of the sun together one last time.

Since it was their last time together when they were alive, it always held a special place in Riverstar's heart... which is why he's upset with RiverClan and ThunderClan fighting over it. They're spilling blood on his husband's final resting place and he is NOT pleased, especially since RiverClan didn't even need it until the river fish were poisoned. His own clan's going against what he stood for because they want their sunning spot and extra prey back.

But putting that aside for another time, I'm sure Riverstar would be all for letting Barley into StarClan to see Ravenpaw again, because he knows what it feels like to be in their position. He knows what it feels like to watch the life drain from your lover's eyes and being unable to do anything but hold them and offer comfort one last time.

YOU ARE SO FRRRRRREAKING RIGHT>>!>>!>!?!??!?!? ohhhh i was so mad that river never got to say goodbye (even if you look past all the queer-coding, they were best friends?? is it gay to mourn your bff) and river is the ferryman for cats outside of the code to sneak into starclan to speak to their lovers barley? they're absolutely bffs from how many times river's let him in jake? he thinks it was kinda messed up that he got murked by one of starclan's comets! go talk to your husband in his dreams he misses you zelda? come right on in girl. violet's been looking for a sign river was never really big on rules anyways, esp not ones that are pointless and prejudiced against outsiders (cause he was an outsider once too!) (river gets the award for being one of the only spirits to have basic common sense and empathy /j)
