This chick was probably some kinda WEIRDO. There was some sort of  bang-- probably from her hitting the  door, or something-- but he JUMPED back out of habit. ❛ Are you... OKAY? ❜ He didn’t believe she was a THIEF. 

❛ So... you’re just a CAT BURGLAR? ❜ He surprised himself by cracking a  joke, especially since he hadn’t had any CONTACT outside his therapist. He was doing well, he thinks. Maybe.

❛ Here, let me-- ❜ He yanked the caught fabric off of the loose nail. ❛ There. Any BETTER? ❜

      ❝It’s your brain telling you that you need to get laid.❞

Steve gave Nat the driest look he could muster. Sometimes he wondered why he even bothered telling her this stuff and then he remembered - because she was pragmatic and trustworthy and somehow it wasn’t anywhere near as embarrassing as the idea of telling Sam.

Nat took a nonchalant bite of a crepe

      ❝She’s a team mate. technically I’m her superior.❞

     ❝This isn’t the army. Besides, she’s hot. Was she hot in your dream?❞

Steve refused to answer that but Nat just grinned.

      ❝That blush means ‘yes’. I bet you two looked pretty damn hot together.❞

Her cooing was just too obvious and Steve shook his head, knowing she was teasing now. He smiled at her and stood.

      ❝Okay, this conversation is done. And I have training to get to.❞

The smirk didn’t leave Nat’s lips.

     ❝With Wanda? Try not to throw her to the mat or anything. I’d hate for you to have        to give your boyscout badge back.❞

     ❝Shut up.❞

Steve entered the gym to find Wanda ready and waiting. And gorgeous, his traitorous brain reminded him. He shook the thought away, trying not to recall the dream as vividly as he had done when he’d awoke that morning. 

He plastered a cheerful look on his face to hide any discomfort.

      ❝Okay then, ready for some hand to hand?❞
