answering this ask from @generalkuwagattan that was sent to my main because HOO BOY I HAVE WORDS TO SAY ABOUT MY CRACKSHIP

to be perfectly honest the main reason I ship these two together is because they're some of my personal fave characters 🥺🥺 Grindle is easily my fave npc and trobbios fight was such a blast and I wish we got more of both of them

As for how I perceive their relationship, I personally see it as being like. Extrovert adopting an introvert sort of energy. I like to think they first met when Grindle was scouring the Citadel on Act 2, but before Hornet fights Trobbio - he saw Trobbio's Claw Mirror and tried to steal it, causing a big scuffle between the two XD I haven't thought too much about who fell first and whatnot because it's ultimately a silly funny ship that doesn't have a lot of lore. Playing with my touys energy.

This comic I made of them is kind of an example of their dynamic. Trobbio being very overdramatic and Grindle sorta balancing out the theatrics with his deadpan bluntness/rudeness. (It's also how I feel about everyone comparing Grimm and Trobbio like BRO STOP DOING THAT)

To TLDR here BRO I LOVE THEM SO MUCHHHHH they don't have major narrative or lore roles and that just makes them feel like real people inhabitaing this world. Team Cherry has always been great at making eccentric characters that slot into their worlds seamlessly and these two are no exception. Obsessed with them and will be drawing more of them definitely

HOWEVER I have actually been thinking about them in silksongs endgame so like. Massive fucking spoilers under the cut

Act 3 has a certain bleakness to it that I feel would permeate their relationship in a lot of aspects. With trobbio basically giving into the demise of Pharloom and accepting a death he perceives to be inevitable, contrasted with how... Uncaring Grindle is of the whole void situation. I can't remember his dialogue to hornet exactly, but the fact that his little shop remains open and he never really comments on it again makes me think he's mostly uncaring and is instead putting his focus on what he loves (money)

Basically overreacting Vs underreacting - and the two would clash because Trobbio would want Grindle to accept death with him together, to wait for the void or haunting to take them which Grindle would be like "why tf would I do that" because Grindle feels like the type of person to go down fighting....
