“It’s amazing how much you can hear when no one is saying anything.” - Unknown Working on the front and back gardens of @karmaguruacademy was like a breath of fresh air. The objective was create an unintimidating space where you are surrounded by serene ‘reflection’ corners away from the ‘noise’. I completed this project right before Covid hit , so I wasn’t able to take professional photographs to do it justice (these are my snaps). Hopefully by September when the weather is kinder, everything will be back to normal, and the space will come back to life with all of its elements ..Having said that, they are now open for appointments and have moved all their workshops online for the interim. It’s worth checking them out. Once upon a time I used to wake up and die to make jewellery ...I used to lock myself up in my atelier for hours on end creating one-off statement necklaces and rings and a spectrum of quirky everyday pieces . It’s funny how one person’s likes shift and metamorph and all of a sudden, today I can’t wait to wake up to pick up my paintbrush and give birth to deep forms of expression. I am not a big talker when it comes to my inner feelings.. so I do believe that everytime they weasel their way into my art, in whatever form I am experimenting with at the time. Workin on a new project which turned out to be as therapeutic & immersive as meditation. Found a dried eucalyptus branch that I’ve lightly sprayed in antique gold.. thought I’d try painting the same tribal designs on the leaves .. here goes... Used 2 mediums.. ink and a glass ink brush (and because I found it quite light & washed out) moved to gouache black paint again.. prefer this look. Next step 🍃getting a new unsprayed eucalyptus branch and working on that instead as I feel the gold touches don’t work with ‘tribal’ 😂 Maybe we spray the eucalyptus with some white spray paint for accentuation.. that might look quite awesome .
