Watching the wheels
A fair few month ago I put new tyres on my Tarmac Pro Disc and out of interest decided to track my mileage on them to see how they wore over time.
The tyres in question were the Specialized Sworks Turbo Gripton 700x28c tyres. I’d run the 26mm version on LEJOG with great success (no punctures) and wanted to see if the 28s were more comfortable.
Anyhow, I’ve been tracking mileage on Garmin Connect and am about 50km short of 1000km so I thought I would take a close look to see what shape they are in.
There’s a little bit of noticeable wear on the middle section as you’d expect, but very mild wear at that, and the nobbly grip elements are still in great condition. As for the sidewalls and general tyre condition....
Well they look spot on!
